Televised Presentations. BIOLOGY 100 (CRN 64140 is offered as a distance learning course. The class lecture presentations are televised via public television stations in Hawai'i (click here for broadcast schedule for Spring 2012). These presentations were videotaped a few years ago. To understand changes to the course not reflected in these videotaped broadcasts, be sure to visit the Important Information page on this website. The advantage to the televised broadcast is that you can videotape these sessions for your own viewing at a time convenient to you. You also have an opportunity to view your taped sessions as many times as you feel necessary to understand the content. Plus you can start and stop the presentations at your convenience. If you miss a televised broadcast, you may view the broadcast over the Internet using Video On Demand, or you may check out the appropriate session, as a DVD, from your campus' library (not all libraries carry these). Finally, the telecasts have been converted to downloadable podcasts (mp4 files) which are available from the course Laulima site.
Laulima Access. This distance learning class will be administered using the UH Laulima system. I will use the course Laulima site to make general course announcments, administer quizzes and exams, and provide useful resources. Access Laulima is described on the Important Information page.
